Update On Kenny Omega’s Status Following Surgery Recovery

“The Cleaner” Kenny Omega is recognized as one of, if not the greatest pro wrestler in the modern era and possibly even of all time. He has won championship gold in every promotion he has competed in and he was even one of the first signees in AEW as well as one of the most dominant World Champion in the history of All Elite Wrestling. Kenny Omega last competed for AEW at last November’s Full Gear Event, when he lost the AEW World Title to “Hangman” Adam Page and he has since been out of action as he has had injuries that needed to be surgically repaired and he needed to divert his attention on rehabbing those nagging injuries. AEW President Tony Khan even told Kenny Omega he can take as much time off as he needed.

Dave Meltzer revealed on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW’s Kenny Omega is currently recovering from an arthroscopic knee surgery and that it will take him about 10 weeks to fully recover. Not only is Omega recovering from the knee surgery, but he is also slated to receive a surgery to repair his sports hernia at the end of this month and that will take him around two months to recover. Aside from the hernia surgery, Omega also has other issues he is planning to take care of before he finally makes his return to in-ring action.

There is no word yet on the timeframe for Omega’s return, but updates will be provided once it’s been made available. Kenny Omega originally hoped to be back to in-ring action by February, but noted that he was a little too optimistic.
