WWE Reportedly Passed On Signing New AEW Talent Jade Cargill

During this past week’s episode of Dynamite, Indie Star Jade Cargill made her AEW debut when she made her way down to the ring to confront Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes in an in-ring segment and teased a possible AEW appearance by NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal. It would then be announced shortly after that Cargill has been signed to a multi-year contract with AEW.

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cargill actually had a WWE tryout back in April of 2019 in the same WWE Performance Center tryout class that featured current NXT Superstar Emily Andzulis of Titan Games fame, but she wasn’t signed and no contract talks were made.

Meltzer then gave his thoughts on WWE not signing Cargill to a contract by saying,

“just based on her look and athletic ability I’m surprised WWE didn’t sign her, but they did a complete tryout and there must have been something they didn’t like.”

Prior to signing with AEW, Jade Cargill was a fitness model and she played college basketball for the University of Jacksonville. She was trained by QT Marshall at his Nightmare Factory Wrestling School, and at the Face 2 Face Wrestling School by Richard Borger and Heath Slater.
