Ratings for the Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 addition of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were released Thursday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW finishing 8th overall for the night. WWE NXT finished 25th for the night.
AEW drew 772,000 viewers way up from last week’s 667,000 viewers. They finished 14th overall last week. Dynamite was taped this week at Daily’s Place again in Jacksonville Florida. Pretty good for a taped episode.
Dynamite featured at tag match between Kenny Omega & ‘Hangman’ Adam Page vs. The Natural Nightmares. Then finished with a tag match between Le Sex Gods, Sammy Guevara & Chris Jericho vs. Best Friends
NXT drew 746,000 viewers also way up from last week’s 673,000 viewers. It finished 25th overall, up from last week’s 35th overall. The show featured Bayley & Sasha Banks defeating Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart to retain their WWE Women’s Tag Team championship. Reminder WWE is using main roster talent on NXT to bring in viewers.
The total combined wrestling audience for both shows was way up to 1.518 million viewers. It was at 1.350 million viewers last week. Both shows gained their viewers back after last week’s news and NASCAR event.
Based on the ratings, Fox News dominated the top 5 with 3 shows. News accounted for 8 shows in the top 15. MTV’s Challenge: Total Madness was first for the night and Property Brothers on HOME came in at fifth.
