Ratings for the Wednesday, May 13th, 2020 addition of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were released Thursday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW beats NXT again to finish 15th overall for the night. WWE NXT finished 46th for the night.
AEW drew 654,000 viewers way down from last week’s 732,000 viewers. They finished 12th overall last week. This was back to the taped edition of the show that took place at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville Florida. This week’s show was taped after last week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
Dynamite featured a tag match between Matt Hardy and Kenny Omega vs. Santana and Ortiz. Then Brodie Lee vs. Christopher Daniels as the main event with an appearance at the end by Jon Moxley.
NXT drew 604,000 viewers down from last week’s 663,000 viewers. It finished 46th overall, down from last week’s 33rd overall. The big announcement tease by Triple H on social media? WWE NXT Takeover: In Your House. Looks like the tease was not enough to generate interest from fans.
The total combined wrestling audience for both shows was down from last week to 1.258 million viewers. It was at 1.395 million viewers last week. Seems like fans are disinterested in taped shows.
Based on the ratings, people were still into the news cycle. Seven of the top 15 shows were news related.
