Ratings for the Wednesday, May 5th, 2020 addition of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were released Thursday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW beats NXT again to finish 12th overall for the night. WWE NXT finished 33rd for the night.
AEW drew 732,000 viewers up from last week’s 693,000 viewers and finished 12th overall. They finished 16th overall last week. This was the first live show in weeks and took place at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville Florida.
That show featured a Non-Title Match with AEW World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley vs. Frankie Kazarian. Then Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara vs. Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy Street Fight Match. Matt Hardy making his AEW wrestling debut.
NXT drew 663,000 viewers up from last week’s 637,000 viewers. It finished 33rd overall, way up from last week’s 51th overall.
The total combined audience for both shows was up from last week to 1.395 million viewers. It was at 1.330 million viewers last week, which is a great sign for wrestling fans.
Unlike last week, based on the ratings, people were back into the news cycle. Five of the top 10 shows were news related.

Male viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.39

Viewers 50+ – AEW: 0.29
