AEW TV RATINGS: Dynamite Finishes 5th, August 22, 2020

Ratings for the Saturday, August 22, 2020 edition of AEW Dynamite were released Tuesday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW finishing 5th overall for the night.

Dynamite drew 755,000 viewers slightly down from last week’s 792,000 viewers. They finished 9th last week on a Wednesday night. Dynamite was taped this week at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville Florida and moved to a 6 pm start time on Saturday.

According to PWInsider, WarnerMedia executives are pleased with AEW’s weekend rating. Officials are “extremely happy” with the ratings, which allowed TNT to have three of the top five rated broadcasts in the 18-34 demo for Saturday night.

On Wednesday, with no competition from AEW, NXT drew 853,000 viewers way up from last week’s 619,000 viewers. It finished 23rd overall, way up from last week’s super-low 65th overall.

Based on the ratings, the NBA had three of the top spots with UFC in at four. TNT executives should realize they have something special in AEW. They were able to draw well with a 6:34 pm start time.

Viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.31/ NXT: 0.24
Female viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.19
Male viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.44
Viewers 18-34 – AEW: 0.21
Female viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.13
Male viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.25
Viewers 25-54 – AEW: 0.35
Viewers 50+ – AEW: 0.25
