AEW TV RATINGS: Dynamite Finishes 7th, NXT 24th, July 8th, 2020

Ratings for the Wednesday, July 8th, 2020 addition of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were released Thursday. According to a report by Showbuzz Daily, AEW finishing 7th overall for the night, WWE NXT finished 24th.

AEW drew 715,000 viewers down from last week’s 748,000 viewers. They finished 6th overall last week. Dynamite was taped this week at Daily’s Place again in Jacksonville Florida. Night Two of Fyter Fest.

Fyter Fest featured one championship match, no belts changed hands. The main event was Chris Jericho vs Orange Cassidy.

NXT drew 759,000 viewers slightly down from last week’s 792,000 viewers. It finished 24th overall, down from last week’s 13th overall. The show featured NXT Champion match. Keith Lee defeating Adam Cole via pinfall to retain the North American title and win the NXT title. WWE presented their Great American Bash night two.

The total combined wrestling audience for both shows was up to 1.474 million viewers. It was at 1.540 million viewers last week. It looks like both shows lost audience this week. I wonder what the numbers for AEW would have been with a Championship match between Jon Moxley and Brian Cage.

Based on the ratings, only one news program was in the top 5 shows. News accounted for only 8 shows in the top 15 this week. MTV’s Challenge: Total Madness was first for the night. Real Housewives was number two.
