Powerhouse Hobbs Turned Down a Massive AEW Offer to Join WWE
Powerhouse Hobbs has signed with WWE after his AEW contract expired in mid-January, turning down what Dave Meltzer reported was a substantial offer from AEW to stay. According to Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW's offer was comparable to what Bryan Danielson received to jump from WWE to AEW and higher than what Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were making four years ago. Hobbs, who held the TNT Championship and AEW World Trios Titles during his run with the company since 2020, chose WWE's opportunity despite the hefty contract offer from Tony Khan's promotion.
