According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE moved Finn Bálor to SmackDown to separate him from Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh after their recent feud on RAW concluded with Bálor's victory over McDonagh on May 18. Meltzer explained that WWE wanted to give Bálor a fresh start and avoid continued interactions with former Judgment Day members, similar to how they previously separated Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio after their storyline ended. Bálor's trade to SmackDown was officially announced on the June 1 episode of RAW, and he is now scheduled to compete in a Fatal 4-Way match against Royce Keys, LA Knight, and Jey Uso in the King of the Ring tournament.
Roman Reigns retained his World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match at WWE Clash in Italy. After the match, while Reigns was walking through the crowd area with The Bloodline, a fan grabbed his arm and wouldn't let go, prompting Jey Uso to intervene and handle the situation so they could continue their exit safely.
Former WWE referee and wrestler "Dangerous" Danny Davis stated in a Wrestling Epicenter interview that Vince McMahon saved his life, saying "Without Vince McMahon, I would either be dead or in jail." According to Ahmed, the change happened gradually as WWE positioned Johnson as the leader of the Nation over Farooq, causing his "head to swell up."
Ahmed Johnson has disputed D'Lo Brown's long-standing story about an alleged backstage fight between the two during their time in the Nation of Domination. During a recent appearance on Inside The Ropes, Ahmed argued that if the altercation had happened as described, there would have been evidence and discussion about it decades ago, calling it a "fantasy" that only emerged "30 years later." Ahmed questioned why the story only gained traction years after it supposedly occurred and suggested the entire incident has been exaggerated or fabricated.
Eric Bischoff revealed on a recent episode of 83 Weeks that his biggest regret about the nWo storyline was that it never received a proper ending, stating "I would have had an ending. Not a better ending, just an ending." Bischoff believes WCW should have concluded the nWo storyline as early as 1998 or 1999 to allow the company to transition into a completely new major storyline instead of continuing to rely on the same concept year after year.
