Kevin Nash Reveals Why Fingerpoke of Doom Really Happened
Kevin Nash revealed at River City Wrestling Con that the infamous "Fingerpoke of Doom" from January 4, 1999, was his idea to make the moment more shocking. Nash said the original plan called for a six-to-eight minute match before Hulk Hogan would win the WCW World Title, but he pitched having Hogan simply poke him in the chest instead, arguing it would get a better response from the crowd. Nash defended the decision and disputed claims that he sabotaged his own championship push, pointing out that he booked himself to beat Goldberg only to give up the title six days later.
