Charlotte Flair has an exceptional track record in the WWE. The former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion has been one of the most inspirational figures in the company. She became the SmackDown Women’s Champion in 2021 and the reign continued in 2022 when she defeated her nemesis, Ronda Rousey, at WrestleMania 38.
While the win was good, the experience was different the following show at WWE WrestleMania Backlash as she lost the title to the then challenger, The Baddest Woman on the Planet. She was written off Television at the show which was then referred to as an arm injury. Flair’s husband, AEW star Andrade El Idolo, indicated that her current time away is due to “personal reasons.” He spoke to Mas Lucha and shared his thoughts on Ashley Flair’s absence. He said:
Ashley (Charlotte Flair) has time off due to personal reasons, and she will specify them in future interviews. It was very heavy because she worked on Thursdays to work on Weekends while I travelled on Tuesdays and returned on Thursdays as soon as she was scheduled to leave. Right now, we are good because I get to see her more. I hope she comes back soon.
Flair appeared on WWE’s Most Extreme Moments on FOX and teased that the Raw Women’s Title is in her sights this past weekend. It’s interesting to know that the member of WWE’s Four Horsewomen has her sights on the championship that is currently held by Bianca Belair.
Flair defeated Belair on an episode of NXT TV in February 2020. She is the only member of the four horsewomen that the current champion hasn’t pinned. While there are two wins to Belair’s credit, but they came via disqualification and cannot be counted.
WWE’s Extreme Rules show happens this Saturday where Belair puts her title on the line against Bayley in a ladders match. The two have built the storyline well, and we need to see if the two can fair well. If Bayley walks out with the title then she will be the champion and Flair will have to fight a member of her four horsewomen.
Belair defeated Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 37 and WrestleMania 38, respectively, and beat Bayley at WWE Hell in a Cell last year. The feud currently going on between the champion and the challenger has everyone glued, and we would have to wait to see the outcome of the match.
Do you think Belair will retain or will Damage CTRL help Bayley walk out with the title? Sound off in the comments.
