John Cena’s Opponent For WWE Superstar Spectacle Announced

16-time World Champion and WWE legend John Cena will make his return to the WWE on the September 1st episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown from inside the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Cena will be also be going to India for the first time with the rest of the WWE’s wrestlers and crew for their upcoming Superstar Spectacle Event set to take place on Friday, September 8th from the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India, which will be the company’s first live event in India since 2017.

WWE India announced, via their official Instagram account, that 16-time World Champion John Cena will team with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins to face Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci in Tag Team action at their upcoming Superstar Spectacle Event. The massive event will also see Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens defend their titles against Veer Mahaan and Sanga of Indus Sher.

John Cena’s most recent appearance for the WWE took place at their 2023 WWE Money In The Bank Premium Live Event in London, England, when he surprised the WWE fans and talked about the company looking to bring WrestleMania to Europe in the near future. Cena would be interrupted by Grayson Waller and this would lead to Cena hitting Grayson Waller with an Attitude Adjustment. Cena last competed for the WWE at their WrestleMania 39 Night 1 Event last April, when he challenged then-WWE United States Champion Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship, but came up short.
