Kevin Owens Suffers An Injury During Sunday’s WWE Live Event

Kevin Owens faced Austin Theory in a Singles Match during last Sunday’s WWE Sunday Stunner Event from the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin and it seems that the former WWE Universal and United States Champion may have suffered a nasty injury in the matchup when he came down from the turnbuckle and landed hard on his knee. The former WWE United States Champion then immediately clutched his knee as the referee checked on him. Owens then got back up, hit the Stunner on Theory and got the victory. Owens was then helped to the backstage area by the referee and he was seen limping.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the injury Owens has right now is an MCL sprain, but by the way it was worded it could be more than that, though hopefully that is all Owens is dealing with right now. There’s no word yet on the severity of Owens’ injury and how long he could be out of action, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.

Owens last appeared on WWE TV when he and Johnny Gargano defeated Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) in Tag Team action on the September 26 episode of WWE RAW, although Kevin Owens has continued to work WWE Live Events.
