News On John Cena’s Status Following His MITB Appearance

WWE legend and 16-time World Champion John Cena shocked the WWE Universe and the entire pro wrestling industry at this past Saturday night’s WWE Money in the Bank Event when he made a surprise appearance and cut a promo to the delight of the fans in attendance. Cena praised the crowd in London and teased the idea of WWE holding a future WrestleMania in the country. Cena was then interrupted by WWE Friday Night SmackDown Star Grayson Waller, which would lead to some physicality between and two and the 16-time World Champion hitting an AA to Waller to end the segment.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select noted that John Cena’s appearance at last Saturday night’s Money in the Bank Event was just a one-off and although it was known that the WWE legend was in London because he was filming a movie, there were no hints of teases that the 16-time World Champion would appear on the show. Cena last competed for the WWE at last April’s WrestleMania 39, when he challenged and lost to WWE United States Champion Austin Theory.
