WWE’s next Premium Live Event known as SummerSlam is set to take place on Saturday, August 5th inside Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan and as previously reported the match that’s planned to main event the show is current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso, the person who scored a massive pinfall victory over Roman and one-half of possibly the greatest tag team in the history of WWE, The Usos.
Dave Meltzer said on a recent Wrestling Observer Radio Program that there are currently 6 top matches planned for next month’s WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event and those matchups will feature Superstars like WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, “The Baddest Woman On The Planet” Ronda Rousey, Logan Paul, WWE Women’s Champion Asuka, 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre and “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes. Meltzer also noted that it’s unclear who Paul will battle at SummerSlam, with LA Knight being one of his rumored opponents, but Meltzer later noted that Knight is not what the company has planned for Logan. There are no opponents in mind as well for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, but WWE Hall of Famer Edge is a possibility for The Visionary.
The top 6 matches planned for WWE SummerSlam include reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns putting his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against Jey Uso, “The Man” Becky Lynch vs. WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus in Women’s Division Singles action, Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler in a Women’s Division Singles Match, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar in a Singles Match, WWE Women’s Champion Asuka defending her WWE Women’s Title against Bianca Belair and “The Queen” Charlotte Flair in Women’s Division Triple Threat action and current WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER putting his WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line against Drew McIntyre.
