WWE Superstar Roman Reigns will defend his title(s) at Clash at the Castle this Saturday. The show will air from Cardiff, UK. It will be the first time since 2020 that Drew McIntyre will be in a championship match in front of a live audience. WrestleVotes reports that the current WWE Universal Champion may lose the title(s) at the event.
There is no clear indication on which title will be lost or will Roman Reigns lose both titles as his second anniversary as the champion comes closer. Notably, the WWE has changed since Mr McMahon left the creative table.
Triple H wants to create better opportunities. He wants to give everyone a chance in the five hours of the event programming every week. The wrestling landscape has evolved, and there are no last-minute decisions. Hunter would want the fans to see their hometown hero (sort of) get the win and end the show on a high note.
WWE kept the titles on Roman Reigns and never created a new one because the idea would be to split them between the red and the blue brand and have them get defended at live events and pay-per-view shows.
Why Would Roman Reigns lose the title(s)?
Roman Reigns has moved to a lighter schedule where he rarely appears on every pay-per-view and every weekly show. The other factor revolves around the fact that with both titles on SmackDown, the flagship show has no champion. Drew McIntyre can move over to Raw after the win, while Roman Reigns can fight Karrion Kross before losing the title.
The ‘Young Rock’ show dropped a snippet of how he would be willing to wrestle Roman Reigns. While the words were by a different actor playing the young Rock, chances are that these losses would help WWE build towards a feud between The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
Roman Reigns could take out his frustrations on his cousin, The Usos, who could deny accepting him as The Tribal Chief. It could lead to a beatdown by Reigns on his cousins, followed by a showdown between The Rock and Roman Reigns where the winner will be the Undisputed Head of the Table and The Tribal Chief. The match will happen at WrestleMania, and with next year’s Showcase of the Immortals getting advertised under this idea, Sofi Stadium would come alive.
