The main event of the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble Event saw current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens and walk out of the match still the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Immediately after the match, Reigns continued his brutal assault on Owens with the help of Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and Solo Sikoa. The Head Of The Table was on the verge of finishing the job by destroying Owens with a steel chair, but he was stopped by Sami Zayn.
Reigns then handed the steel chair to Zayn and told him to finish Owens, but instead of nailing Owens with a chair, Zayn hit The Tribal Chief and was attacked by Sola and Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Jimmy Uso. It seemed that Jey Uso wanted nothing to do with the beatdown The Bloodline was dishing on Zayn so he walked away and hours later took to his Instagram and said he is out.
WWE SmackDown last Friday night saw Roman Reigns address the state of The Bloodline, only with Heyman by his side as he questioned Sikoa and Jimmy Uso about the whereabouts of Jey Uso earlier in the show and they said they have not heard from Jey since the Royal Rumble Event on Saturday night. Roman said he wanted to talk about Cody Rhodes but the “simple folks” have reduced him to talking about the past and that past is none other than Sami Zayn. Reigns then claimed that Zayn used him and The Bloodline, which is no different than everyone else. Zayn then suddenly appeared and attacked Reigns. Reigns was about to use a chair, but Zayn speared him and escaped out of the ring before Zayn could hit him with a chair.
Sikoa and Jimmy then attacked Zayn from behind and Roman Reigns made his way back to the ring to stop Solo from hitting the hip attack on Sami. The Head Of The Table then told Sami Zayn that he will give him what he wants and that is a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at the Elimination Chamber Event, but he also wants something from Zayn and that is to beat him and destroy him in front of Sami Zayn’s family and friends.
