Several People In WWE Management Has Bad Feelings Towards CM Punk

Former 2-time AEW World Champion and former WWE Champion CM Punk, who is one of, if not the most out-spoken and controversial personalitties in all of pro wrestling, was released from AEW after a number of reports surfaced that Punk had a physical backstage altercation with AEW’s Jack Perry and how Punk was lunging at AEW President Tony Khan immediately following the altercation. CM Punk would also have a heated confrontation with Khan immediately after the incident and threatened to quit the company in the moment after the incident, which the AEW President said he feared for his safety.

Since then, the pro wrestling world has been speculating that Punk might return to WWE when he’s free and clear in case there is a non-compete clause in place as part of his AEW termination. Dave Meltzer stated on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Matt Riddle, who was released from the WWE this past week, has no negative feelings with people in AEW and vice versa, unlike Punk, who still has people in WWE’s management upset with him.

There is no word yet on if WWE is interested in bringing Punk back into the company, but reports have revealed that Punk was interested in returning to the WWE this past December with the idea of working the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event the following month before working at WrestleMania 39 as well.
