Something Is Going On In Regards To William Regal’s AEW/WWE Rumors

As previously reported, there were speculations that William Regal is headed back to the WWE after he was told by former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley to never show his face again and that angle was done as a way to write Regal off of AEW TV. More fuel was added to the speculations when WWE Chief Content Officer and Head of Creative Triple H acknowledged the professional wrestling legend by posting clips of his previous WarGames announcements.

Dave Meltzer noted on an episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that William Regal returning to the WWE has certainly been a topic of discussion, but Regal’s AEW deal won’t expire for a few more years since he signed a three-year deal with the company. Dave Meltzer provided an update on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program and indicated that there is “something going on” with Regal and there is something in play, but if Regal did sign a three-year deal with AEW, then there is nothing he can do legally until 2025, unless AEW President Tony Khan somehow lets him out of his deal early. William Regal and WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H have been close friends since the mid-90s and it was former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s decision to release Regal from the company, not Triple H, so it is highly possible that Regal makes his return to the WWE sooner rather than later.
