WWE will be holding their WrestleMania 39 Premium Live Event on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2 from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and the company is looking to stack their card and make it the biggest WrestleMania of all time based on recent reports of who the promotion wants to bring back and the matches they want to have.
A source in the WWE told WrestlingNews.co last December 30th that another match internally listed for WrestleMania 39 was for Ronda Rousey to defend the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day, but Rousey ended up losing the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title to Charlotte Flair on an episode of WWE SmackDown last December and it has since been made official that Charlotte will defend her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ripley at WWE WrestleMania 39. Rousey was also rumored to face Becky Lynch at WWE WrestleMania 39, but that matchup has been scrapped as well and Rousey has been absent from WWE TV since the December 30th episode of WWE SmackDown.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rousey is scheduled to team up with Shayna Baszler and they are set to challenge WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Dakota Kai for their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 39. Meltzer also noted that this WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Matchup is locked in, but there is no word yet on when Rousey will make her return to WWE TV.
