Status Update On Roman Reigns For WWE Extreme Rules

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns has been working a lighter schedule over the past several months, with his last title defense taking place at last month’s WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event when he defeated Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match. There had been several rumors and speculations that Reigns would not be working this year’s Extreme Rules Premium Live Event as when WWE released the promotional material for the event on Saturday, October 8th, The Head Of The Table was not advertised.

Roman Reigns is scheduled to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Drew McIntyre at WWE’s Clash At The Castle Event and it was rumored that the match will be changed into a Triple Threat with Karrion Kross being inserted after he made his return to the WWE on last week’s WWE SmackDown, but it is currently not in the plans and the match is still a one-on-one match.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Reigns is definitely not booked for WWE’s Extreme Rules and the potential Karrion Kross vs. Roman Reigns Match will likely be taking place either at WWE Survivor Series or on television. WWE could also book the match for the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia on November 5th.

WWE typically books a Champion vs. Champion Match at Survivor Series, but with Reigns holding the top championships on both shows, they may not do that this year.
