Terry Funk Has Passed Away At The Age Of 79

WWE Hall of Famer and former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk, who began his pro wrestling career in the mid-1960s for his father’s Western States Sports promotion, recently passed away at the age of 79. Terry Funk competed for companies such as Championship Wrestling From Florida, Continental Wrestling Association, All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and WWE (F.K.A. WWF) throughout his storied and legendary career prior to trying his luck at making movies in Hollywood.

Terry Funk would also compete for the WCW back in 1989, where he had his legendary feud with two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair and would have a short stint with ECW, winning the ECW World Title at the promotion’s first-ever PPV Event in 1997 known as Barely Legal. Prior to Terry Funk’s unfortunate and tragic passing, he has been battling dementia for a number of years.

We here at ProWrestlingNewsHub send our condolences to Terry Funk’s family and friends.
