WWE is set to hold their 2023 WWE Royal Rumble Event on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas and even though there’s still a little over a month to go before the event will be taking place, the show has already amassed a gross gate exceeding $4.6 million as noted by WWE co-CEO Nick Khan during the recent third quarter earnings call. There is also genuine excitement for the show and a lot of buzz going around as this will be the first Royal Rumble under the Triple H regime.
WrestleTix reported that the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble Event has sold a total of about 33,766 tickets out of a possible 36,132 tickets, which is the show’s current capacity, so that means WWE still has 2,366 tickets left and if the trend continues, then Royal Rumble will be on its way of being a sellout.
The company has already begun building up the top matches of their 2023 WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event and these matches have already been set internally, but due to a number of reasons, the matches can only be officially announced after the December 30 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Some of the matches that have already been set include an Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match between Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens, a WWE SmackDown Women’s Title Matchup between WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Raquel Rodriguez, a Men’s Royal Rumble Match, a Women’s Royal Rumble Match, a Pitch Black Match and a match between Edge and “Demon” Finn Balor.
