This Year’s WWE SummerSlam May Be The Highest-Grossing Event Ever

WWE’s next Premium Live Event known as SummerSlam is set to take place on Saturday, August 5th inside Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan and the company is looking to stack the card from top to bottom, with reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns putting his Undisputed WWE Universal Title on the line against Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match as the main event.

Next month’s WWE SummerSlam Event will also see WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins defend his WWE World Heavyweight Title against Finn Balor, Brock Lesnar face “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes in a Singles Match, Ronda Rousey face Shayna Baszler in a Women’s Division Singles Match, WWE Women’s Champion Asuka defend her WWE Women’s Championship against “The EST Of WWE” Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair in Women’s Division Triple Threat action, Logan Paul battle WWE RAW Star Ricochet in a Singles Match and WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker make an appearance during the show’s weekend, among others.

As of this writing, WWE SummerSlam has sold 44,447 tickets, with over 40,000 of those tickets paid by the fans. Dave Meltzer revealed on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that this year’s WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event will likely be the highest-grossing event ever in the United States for a non-WrestleMania show due to high ticket prices. Meltzer also revealed that several fans have been downplaying the success of next month’s WWE SummerSlam Event due to AEW All In selling over 75,000 tickets at Wembley Stadium, which will take place just a few weeks later.
