According to Variety, WWE Hall of Famer Edge (Adam Copeland) is set to star in the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series on Disney+ as Ares, The God Of War, which is described as “handsome in a wicked way and arrogant despite not always being the sharpest tool in the shed.” Edge’s character also loves conflict and acts as an agent of chaos wherever he goes. A premiere date for this upcoming Disney+ TV series, which also features celebrities such as Suzanne Cryer and Jessica Parker Kennedy and which is currently in production in Vancouver, has not been revealed yet.
The Rated R Superstar, who last competed for the WWE at last Saturday’s WWE Extreme Rules Event, when he lost an “I Quit” Matchup to The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, has previously starred in shows such as “Vikings,” “Haven” and “The Flash” as well as films like “Money Plane” and “Interrogation.”
Below is the official synopsis for the Disney+ series, along with the teaser:
“‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson (Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover (Simhadri) and Annabeth (Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.”
