WWE Monday Night Raw Ratings Experience Slight Dip Amid NFL Competition

The latest viewership numbers for WWE’s Monday Night Raw indicate a slight decrease from the previous week. According to the reported statistics, Raw managed to attract an average of 1,466,000 viewers on the USA Network. This figure shows a decrease from the 1,533,000 viewers who tuned in the week prior, marking a subtle yet noticeable drop in the wrestling promotion’s flagship show’s audience.

In the coveted 18-49 demographic, Raw also experienced a downturn, securing a 0.43 rating as compared to the previous week’s 0.49. This demographic is considered highly important by advertisers and networks, making this dip something WWE will be paying close attention to.

The evening’s TV landscape was dominated by NFL games, which directly competed with Raw for viewership. Monday Night Football showcased the Green Bay Packers clashing with the New York Giants, pulling in a substantial 11,408,000 viewers on ABC, while the Tennessee Titans versus Miami Dolphins attracted 7,301,000 viewers on ESPN. Additionally, the ManningCast simulcast, which provides an alternative commentary, drew another 940,000 viewers on ESPN2.

When putting these numbers in perspective with the same time period from the previous year, it’s interesting to note the trends. On December 12, 2022, WWE Raw had gathered 1,472,000 viewers and a 0.37 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Going further back, the December 13, 2021, edition of Raw saw a higher audience of 1,574,000 viewers and a 0.39 rating.

While the viewership statistics for the 8 PM, 9 PM, and 10 PM hours were not available, the overall trend indicates a competitive Monday night grappling with football viewership, a yearly analytics challenge. WWE continues to navigate these waters, aiming to maintain and grow its audience amidst a packed entertainment schedule. As always, the industry will keep a close watch on these metrics, and WWE is expected to possibly recalibrate their strategies to maximize viewership.

These numbers are not just indicative of audience preferences but also provide insights into the ebb and flow of entertainment consumption. As sports and entertainment events jockey for the attention of viewers, WWE’s Monday Night Raw faces the constant pressure of keeping its content engaging enough to retain its audience despite stiff competition.
