Triple H recently took over the WWE’s creative and since then a lot of big changes have happened such as several former WWE Stars being brought back, an improvement in the storylines including booking of the matches and how the characters are being presented and wrestling fans being excited to tune it to WWE TV each and every week. Not only is WWE Hall of Famer Triple H looking to bring back released and former WWE talent, but he is also looking to sign new talent from other promotions. Some of those WWE talents that were previously released or out include Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Dakota Kai, IYO SKY and Hit Row (excluding AEW Star Swerve Strickland).
Fightful Select reported that a source close to AEW told them WWE officials reached out to a top star who is still under contract with the company and that unnamed star approached AEW management and told them that the WWE reached out to them about signing with the promotion. The report also mentions that this particular star made it perfectly clear that they were happy with AEW and this star wanted AEW’s higher-ups to know about what was going on and that they didn’t have any desire to leave the company. Fightful was reportedly even told that no mistakes were made that this AEW Star was under a full-time contract with the company.
It was also mentioned on the report that a member of WWE’s talent relations department reached out to the AEW Star and according to a source this particular star referred the call to their representation instead of speaking directly to the WWE. There’s no word yet on who the AEW Star is or who the person from WWE is who reached out, but this particular AEW Star wants to remain anonymous for now.
