Aleister Black Says His Iconic Wrestling Entrance Was Inspired by Black Metal and Iron Maiden Shows
Aleister Black revealed in a recent interview with Popternative that his iconic wrestling entrance was inspired by black metal and theatrical rock shows from the '70s and '80s, particularly after reading an interview with Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth. Black explained that Filth discussed how performances by Alice Cooper and Iron Maiden, including Iron Maiden's use of their Eddie mascot as a giant puppet on stage, influenced his own theatrical approach. Black has incorporated this theatrical entrance philosophy throughout his career across the independent scene, WWE, and AEW, viewing entrances as the first impression that sets the tone for audiences.
