WWE Payback Kickoff Show:
The 2023 WWE Payback Kickoff Show opens up from inside the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as Jackie Redmond welcomes us. Jackie is joined by Kayla Braxton, Wade Barrett, Peter Rosenberg and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T and the Kickoff Show panel goes over the card for tonight’s event. The Kickoff Show panel then discusses the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Pittsburgh Steel City Street Fight. Booker T and Peter Rosenberg predicts current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will retain, but Wade Barrett says The Judgment Day will win.
Grayson Waller joins the Kickoff Show panel and he teases a big scoop for tonight’s segment with Cody Rhodes and says the news will be breaking. Waller also says his boy Austin Theory will win the WWE United States Championship back. Grayson Waller then rips Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and predicts The Miz will defeat LA Knight. Waller then rips LA Knight and does a Nah vs. Yeah chant-off with the fans, then he calls them stupid. Wade Barrett then tries to warn Grayson Waller how dangerous “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes is, but Grayson Waller dismisses this and says the fans are going viral tonight and that’s all that matters.
We then get a video package and discussion for tonight’s Steel Cage Match between Becky Lynch and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Wade Barrett and Booker T go with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, while Peter Rosenberg goes with Becky Lynch. We then see the Steel Cage lowering around the ring as the WWE Universe cheers. We then see the locker room of 16-time World Champion and WWE Payback Host John Cena as Kayla Braxton wraps up the WWE Payback Kickoff Show.

The 2023 WWE Payback Premium Live Event opens up with a video package for tonight’s matches as we are welcomed by Michael Cole. Cole is joined by Corey Graves and we are sent to the ringside area for the first match of the evening.
