AEW Files To Trademark The Stadium Stampede Match Name

On Thursday, August 6th, All Elite Wrestling filed to trademark the Stadium Stampede Match name, which was the name used in the main event of AEW’s 2020 Double Or Nothing PPV Event, which took place this past May 23rd.

The Stadium Stampede Match featured “Broken” Matt Hardy and The Elite (The Young Bucks and the AEW World Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page) going head-to-head with The Inner Circle (“Le Champion” Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Santana, and Ortiz). “Broken” Matt Hardy and The Elite would come out of the match with a huge victory.

The Stadium Stampede Match was reportedly taped for about two days at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida, which is the home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, the team owned by AEW Lead Investor Shad Khan. AEW President and CEO Tony Khan discussed the match in the post-Double Or Nothing media scrum about how it could be a signature match and an annual thing. Tony Khan also said that they were proud of the match.
