AEW Star Nyla Rose Reportedly Tests Positive For COVID-19

Nyla Rose, pro wrestling’s first openly transgender wrestler, signed with AEW in February of 2019 and made her debut with the promotion at their inaugural PPV known as Double or Nothing, when she took on Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Kylie Rae and Awesome Kong in a 4-Way Match. Nyla Rose was set to compete at this Saturday’s Striking Distance Event from Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania, but it was announced by the Enjoy Wrestling promotion that she has been pulled from the show due to Nyla testing positive for COVID-19.

The AEW Star, who was set to face Edith Surreal at the Striking Distance Event, has yet to comment on Enjoy Wrestling’s announcement. Nyla Rose reportedly promoted last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite as it was supposed to be a homecoming for her, but her appearance on last night’s AEW Dynamite was nixed due to her testing positive for COVID-19.

Nyla Rose last competed for AEW on this past Friday’s Rampage, when she teamed with Penelope Ford and The Bunny to defeat Kris Statlander, Red Velvet and Leyla Hirsch in Women’s Division Trios action. On the December 22 Holiday Bash episode of Dynamite, Nyla Rose last appeared on the show, when she would suffer a lose to Ruby Soho in the AEW TBS Title Tournament. There is no word yet on when Nyla Rose is set to return to in-ring action, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
