Top AEW Star MJF has reportedly been frustrated with the company and with AEW President Tony Khan for quite some time now, the reasons of which he revealed during a recent interview with Rasslin’ and due to that, MJF is reportedly leaning towards not re-signing with the promotion when his deal expires in 2024 and jump ship to WWE since they have shown significant interest in signing the AEW Star.
Fightful Select reports that MJF and AEW have not had any formal talks on a potential new deal and it has even been rumored that they are not close in coming to terms on a new deal as MJF has not shown a bit of interest in negotiating a new contract with the company. The report also mentions that AEW CEO Tony Khan is willing to pay him a huge amount compared to other top stars, but that MJF isn’t looking to increase the pay on his current deal until a new deal or an extension is agreed upon.
All Elite Wrestling has worked out a number of other deals in the past, however those deals are in no way related to pay increase as those deals involve time being added to the talents’ current contract. Updates on MJF’s AEW contract status, his future with the company and him potentially jumping ship to WWE will be provided once it has been made available.
