AEW Reportedly Interested In Two Former WWE NXT Stars

All Elite Wrestling is reportedly interested in signing two former NXT Stars to a contract and one of them is none other than Candice LeRae. Candice LeRae’s WWE contract recently expired after she didn’t make an appearance for the promotion since July 2021 due to her pregnancy. Dave Meltzer reported on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that high-ranking officials from AEW has interest in the former WWE NXT Star and she could be on her way to the promotion soon since she is currently a free agent and is not signed with any other promotion.

Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae’s husband, who is also a former WWE NXT Star, is currently a free agent as well due to his WWE contract expiring last December 2021, but Gargano has not made up his mind yet on his future in pro wrestling following the birth of his and LeRae’s first child this past February.

As previously reported, former WWE NXT Star Malcolm Bivens is heading to AEW as well as they have had interest in the former on-screen manager of WWE’s Diamond Mine stable for quite some time and that is believed to be the reason why Malcolm Bivens didn’t sign a new contract with the WWE, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet, though there are people in the WWE that believe that is the reason why the former WWE Star initially declined to sign with the promotion as well when he was offered a deal last year.

Bivens revealed during a recent interview that rumors about him being offered a contract to stay with the company this past February are true and he did decline to re-sign, but it wasn’t true that he was offered to manage Omos. Bivens also noted that there were conversations in regards to him being moved to the main roster, but he did not want to stay with the WWE because he was unhappy and he spoke with the head writer at WWE NXT Stand & Deliver about his unhappiness. Malcolm’s 30-day non compete clause with the WWE is set to expire later this month and it is believed he will be signing with AEW shortly following that.
