Backstage News On MJF’s Status For AEW’s Worlds End PPV

This past Saturday night’s AEW Full Gear Event saw AEW World Champion and ROH World Tag Team Champion MJF compete in not only one title match, but in two titles matches, the first match of which was held on the Zero Hour Pre-Show, where he teamed up with Samoa Joe (Adam Cole’s replacement) to put the ROH World Tag Team Championships on the line against The Gunns (Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn). We then saw MJF defend his AEW World Championship against “Switchblade” Jay White in the show’s main event.

Immediately after MJF’s first match, Austin and Colten Gunn brutally attacked him, which would result in the AEW World Champion being rushed to the hospital. Prior to the main event, Adam Cole would step in and take MJF’s place to prevent White from winning the match and the championship via forfeit, but the AEW World Champion showed up at the last minute and still managed to walk out as the winner after nailing White with the diamond ring.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that MJF is definitely dealing with a lot of pain as it was previously reported that the current AEW World Champion hurt his hip in the match and needed it to be popped back in after the show, but he’ll be ready for the Worlds End PPV this coming December from Nassau Coliseum, when he defends his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe. It was also reported that MJF may have banged up his shoulder, but he won’t be missing any television time, although he will be staying out of the ring while he heals up.
