Britt Baker has long since become a top performer on the women’s roster in AEW. Now there are a lot of great female wrestlers in the company, but hey, they can always use a legend or two thrown into the mix, I believe.
Well, recent developments will have you excited if you’re a fan of ex-WWE Diva’s Champion, Paige, because the two are teasing a possible match on the AEW platform of all places.
It was Britt Baker that started the festivities while doing an interview with Sportskeeda. Here’s a little of what got the ball rolling:
“I think AEW could be the right place for anybody, really…We have such a good platform, we have such good coaches, we have the best fans in the world…I’m a huge fan of Paige…
I love her, I love her mom, I wrestled her mom before, actually. She’s such an inspirational female. That girl has gone through it all, and she’s still, pardon my swearing, but she’s such a bad b*tch…
She has such a ‘let everything roll off your back’ energy. You can’t get to her. She holds her head high…Her in a wrestling ring again, if I’m not in the match, I want to be at ringside watching it, because she was one of my favorites to watch…
Her energy, when she would come out and skip, do the sideways skip to the ring, it made me so excited. I used to play her entrance music in my car. I’m a huge Paige fan.”
Well, anyone who remembers Paige’s legendary WWE career can tell you that the woman accomplished a whole heck of a lot, and at such a young age. Unfortunately she was injured so early in her career and that put an early stop to a very impressive competitive run.
Her life was also shown in the film Fighting With My Family, produced and also co-starring The Rock.

She would later work many angles in WWE still, as manager and leader of factions, also working behind the scenes and in other WWE media over the years, but the news came that she and WWE had parted ways just recently, and well now the playing field for this young woman has slightly or rather exponentially grown….
The question is though, can she be medically cleared to compete? And will she if she is? And what did Paige have to say about all of this?
Well, being the person that she is, when she heard about the challenge, she had a few simple words that got the entirety of the internet talking: “Sign me up.”

Maybe Tony Khan will do just that, and judging by the explosion all of this caused, it looks as though Tony would think it a good idea…a good idea indeed.
