Brodie Lee Dynamite Tribute Show Set, New Year’s Smash Plans

As previously reported, the pro wrestling world recently lost one of the most beloved wrestlers and a really amazing person in Brodie Lee (known as Luke Harper in WWE). He recently passed away at the age of 41. Brodie (Jon Huber) was most popularly known for his time in WWE as part of the Wyatt Family as well as the leader of AEW’s Dark Order stable known as “The Exalted One.”

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently made a huge announcement that this Wednesday’s Dynamite will be a Brodie Lee Tribute show. Tony Khan also said that Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite will celebrate Brodie Lee’s life and will feature tributes as well as a special lineup of matches dedicated to Brodie.

Khan then said that Dynamite on Wednesday night is intended to honor Lee, but is also for his wife Amanda, and their sons Brodie Jr. and Nolan.

Khan then indicated that the favorite wrestlers of Brodie Jr. will team together this Wednesday night for a number of matches, and that this is for one night only.

Some of the matches include;

  • Cody Rhodes teaming up with Orange Cassidy and Preston “10” Vance of Dark Order to face Team Taz
  • Colt Cabana and AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks vs. Matt Hardy and Private Party
  • “Hangman” Adam Page teaming up with Alex Reynolds and John Silver to take on MJF, Santana, and Ortiz.

This now means that AEW’s New Year’s Smash editions of Dynamite will air on January 6th, 2021 as well as January 13th, 2021. They were originally set to air on December 30th, 2020 as well as January 6th, 2021.
