Both AEW star, Bryan Danielson and ROH star, EC3 have loads to say: Danielson on his most recent match with Kenny Omega, and EC3 on the negative side of wrestling when working for Vince McMahon and company.
Danielson on the Impact of his match with Omega
It was while speaking with 6 ABC Philadelphia that Bryan Danielson spoke about what the match between he and Kenny Omega meant to him. The match took place at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam on September 22nd of this year. He said:
“…When you look back on favorite matches, it’s hard because there’s a recency bias but it feels like my favorite experience in a match. My favorite experience before might have been wrestling Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35. But that, I think that may have topped it…But one of the things that I think in these moments where fans are just super into something is that how lucky am I to be doing this thing that I love, with this incredible reaction…”via 6 ABC Philadelphia
As has been reported by cultaholic.com, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter gave the match 5 stars, which is rare, and marks the very first time that Dave Meltzer has given Danielson such a grade, which speaks volumes.
EC3 on WWE and the negative effect that a particular situation had on him
It was on a recent episode of Wrestling Inc Daily with Nick Hausman, that ROH wrestler, EC3 spoke about a plethora of topics, even covering Braun Strowman (Adam Sherr). The two collaborated at Free The Narrative 2: The Monster In Us All. But he also covered some specific events and moments that led him to be quite disillusioned with the sport of professional wrestling. He said:
“…Bray Wyatt, Windham, is one of the most creative and talented people I’ve ever met, especially in this industry… He was one person that really inspired the Control Your Narrative movement because I’ve never seen somebody so creative try so hard, and be so unique, and do so many different things and take it upon himself to create these things…I’m like, this is amazing, and then I remember, I would call this the day wrestling died for me, I wasn’t even there, when he just got beat by Goldberg…I’ve watched this man work so hard…to have it just thrown away by someone’s decision. That’s where Control Your Narrative came from…No matter what company you’re in and no matter how much ‘creative freedom’ you may have, there’s still somebody there that’s going to make decisions and calls and manipulate… If it was the other way, I would have done the exact same thing because we do not control our narratives when we are tied to corporate…”via Wrestling Inc Daily
Free The Narrative 2: The Monster In Us All was an event held on October 2nd.
On Free The Narrative 2, EC3 said:
“…So it’s taking a while. It’s hard work getting it off the ground and portraying something completely different to a world that is programmed to, like we’re talking about, the same things. To bring it to their attention, I think having Adam’s involvement, really put a rocket ship on it and will help the growth of this and hopefully the ideas, and hopefully, more and more people knocking. Hopefully, I hear a fiendish cackle outside that door when I hear a knock one day. I’m really praying to hear that…”via Wrestling Inc Daily
