Chris Jericho On How The AEW Locker Room Has Changed Since Last Year’s All Out Drama And Fallout

Legendary pro wrestler and entertainer, Chris Jericho, states that the AEW locker room is in much better shape a year after the events at last year’s All Out media scrum.

Since last year’s media scum that was held after the All Out event, things in AEW have been a little less than stellar morale-wise. There have been real-life feuds between the parties involved of course, and there were quite a few who weren’t directly involved that also had strong opinions about what happened.

Of course we’re talking about the comments spoken by CM Punk at the time: His high criticism of members of the Elite—perhaps specifically Adam Page, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.

Well, it was since then that AEW’s locker room has been divided and the legendary Chris Jericho was clear about how he felt about what went down as the year progressed, he having been reportedly publically critical of how CM Punk went about his business in expressing his feelings on that night.

Well now, and after a year or so since the events at All Out, or rather the media scrum, Jericho states that things are better and the locker room is in a better state as of right now. Here’s some of what he had to say on the matter as he spoke to the Daily Mail:

“We just let people know that everything’s gonna be OK. We are a great locker room with great people and a lot of momentum for our company that’s still very young and things happen sometimes. There was a lot of uncertainty. We’ve got a lot of young guys and girls on our roster who have never been through stuff like this before, but it’s a part of the business, it happens…

We were really getting painted with an unfair brush by the media in a lot of ways like ‘it’s a dumpster fire in the locker room’ and that wasn’t the case. And I don’t want people to believe what they’re reading and think that it’s real, because it wasn’t…

You go through things like that, fights and that sort of thing, I’ve been in them myself with locker room brawls You’ve got to continue forward and Mox, Danielson and I just really wanted to grab the horse by the reins before it got out of control and just let people know that if you have concerns let’s discuss them, if you have issues let’s discuss them but let’s get through them together and come through stronger on the back end…

I think we really came together well which was great for the locker room and for the fans because the fans too want to know that everything is going to continue moving forward. And I think we did a really good job of righting the ship and most importantly letting people know that it’s going to be OK. It’s not the end of the world. These things happen and we deal with them and we become stronger as a result, which we have.”

Chris Jericho is no stranger to issues that come up backstage, he having had issues with the likes of Goldberg, Chyna, Brock Lesnar, and even Scott Hall and Triple H. But whatever the issue he always handled his issues and never let the issues at hand influence how he would act…a cool head prevailing essentially every time.

Some issues seem to be still popping up though, where the AEW locker room is concerned, the rumors and headlines plentiful in an era in which opinions are often misconstrued as fact, but one thing remains constant: If Chris Jericho tells us things are better, then they’re better.
