Chris Jericho Originally Wanted To Form A Group With Top Stars

Chris Jericho is recognized as one of, if not the greatest professional wrestler in the pro wrestling industry as he has been successful in every pro wrestling promotion he has worked for and he has even won championship titles in every major pro wrestling promotion. Chris Jericho was the biggest signing in AEW history when the promotion was established back in January 2019 and he was even the first-ever AEW World Champion.

During the inaugural episode of AEW Dynamite on October 2, 2019, Chris Jericho, who was the still AEW World Champion at the time, introduced The Inner Circle faction, which was made up of himself, Ortiz, Santana, Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara. Even though The Inner Circle are no longer together, the group is still known as one of the biggest stables in AEW as not only was it led by Chris Jericho, but they have been involved in the greatest matches as well as the greatest rivalries in company history.

The Inner Circle have been having problems for a number of weeks and it all came crashing down on AEW Dynamite over a month ago when he would initially shake hands with Eddie Kingston, but Daniel Garcia, “Daddy Magic” Matt Minard and “Cool Hands” Angelo Parker made their way down to the ring and laid out Eddie Kingston, while Jericho was undisposed until the inaugural AEW World Champion, Jake Hager, Matt Minard, Angelo Parker and Daniel Garcia completely destroyed Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz. Chris Jericho would then grab the microphone and say that this was the Jericho Appreciation Society because they all appreciate him and this is entertainment.

“The Influencer” Chris Jericho recently appeared on Busted Open Radio and indicate that he originally wanted to form an all-babyface group with Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley and that he never intended to break up The Inner Circle and turn heel, but things changed along the way and he got an idea after he cut the sports entertainment promo.

This is what Chris Jericho said:

“My original idea was for maybe, Eddie, and (Jon) Moxley to be an alliance as babyfaces. I never really thought about turning heel. I always had this real romantic idea of never breaking up the Inner Circle and having us be together until the end. Once we started rolling and moving, I realized there was a lot we could do with it.”
