Christian Cage Makes His AEW In-Ring Debut On Dynamite

The opening match of last night’s Dynamite episode saw Christian Cage make his highly-anticipated AEW in-ring debut against SCU’s Frankie Kazarian. The match, which nearly went to a time limit draw, came to an end when Christian Cage hit Kazarian with the Kill Switch and picked up the huge win. The match was a really competitive and hard-hitting match, which had a number of near falls and finishing moves and even saw each competitor hit huge maneuvers. After the match, Christian Cage offered his respects to Frankie Kazarian.

This was Christian Cage’s first traditional wrestling match in over seven years. His last traditional wrestling match took place on the March 24th, 2014 episode of RAW when he competed in a #1 Contenders Fatal Four-Way Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, which coincidentally took place seven years prior to last week’s episode of Dynamite. Prior to signing with AEW, Christian made his in-ring return at January’s WWE Royal Rumble Event.

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan took to Twitter following Christian’s in-ring debut and said that his match on Dynamite was fantastic. Khan also said what a way for Christian to debut in AEW in his first Singles Match anywhere in the world in over seven years.
