Cody Responds To Fan Who Doubts AEW Can Sell Out NYC Show

As previously reported, All Elite Wrestling is set to hold an episode of Dynamite in New York City as AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently appeared on WFAN 660 Sports Radio and revealed that AEW will be holding an episode of Dynamite on Wednesday, September 22 from the USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium, which is a tennis stadium located in Queens, New York that has a capacity of just under 24,000.

A number of AEW Stars responded to this huge announcement such as Cody Rhodes, who simply tweeted NYC with a picture of the USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium. A fan took to Twitter and questioned if the promotion could sell out the show. The fan wrote, “Good luck getting that many people in attendance.” Cody then responded to the fan and said, “I’ve been told this before.”

It will be interesting to see how AEW will lay out or organize their seating and how many tickets the company will put on sale as they usually run shows in arenas that have a capacity of 10,000. AEW will be holding their first-ever stadium show at this venue and this is also the first-ever wrestling show hosted at this tennis complex. Tickets for the show is set to go on sale Friday, July 16th. This show is set to have a special theme called “Dynamite: Grand Slam.”
