Cody Responds To Shaq Challenging Him Last Night On Dynamite

Last night’s episode of Dynamite saw All Elite Wrestling EVP “The American Nightmare” Cody respond to the challenge issued to him by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq challenged Cody Rhodes to a match to be held sometime in March, most likely at Revolution, and that match was made official on Dynamite.

During the show, Cody Rhodes wasn’t sure what he was going to do on the PPV, but Arn Anderson offered him a new tag team partner, who turned out to be Red Velvet. Velvet then told Cargill that Cody would never put his hands on her, but she wouldn’t hesitate to “stir her b**** ass up.” Tony Schiavone then said that the ball was in Shaq and Jade’s court. The Tag Team Match wasn’t made official yet as it is possible that the match could end up being a Singles Match, but it looks like a Tag Team Match is the direction they are headed.

It all started when Shaq and Brandi had a conversation on AEW Dynamite a few weeks ago, but then Shaq joked about his associate, Jade Cargill, giving Brandi some pointers in the ring. Brandi then threw a drink in Shaq’s face, and called him an “overgrown assh***” to end the interview segment. Since then, Jade Cargill has continued to taunt Cody Rhodes whenever he has made an appearance on TV.

Brandi Rhodes recently announced her pregnancy, so it looks like Red Velvet could step in for her, as she did during Cody’s appearance on Britt Baker’s “The Waiting Room” segment.
