‘GLOW’ Renewed for Fourth and Final Season at Netflix

On Friday Netflix announced that GLOW has been renewed for a fourth and final season.

The show stars Alison Brie(Community), Marc Maron and AEW’s Awesome Kong(Kia Stevens). It will return to the ring for the 1980-set wrestling dramedy for one more round at the streaming service. Creators and showrunners Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch are also returning.

This news comes a month after GLOW debuted its third critically acclaimed season back in August. This was just days before Sunday’s Emmy Awards. Betty Gilpin who plays Debbie Eagan on the show was nominated for an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award for her work on Season two.

The show is inspired by the short-lived, but iconic 1980s female professional wrestling league know as Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. GLOW stars Brie as a struggling actress-turned-wrestler. Gilpin co-stars as a former soap actress star. Maron plays a washed-up, B-movie director who now must lead this group of women. Kia Stevens plays Tammé “The Welfare Queen” Dawson, one of the wrestlers on the show.

Season 3 takes place on the Vegas strip, where the crew has set up shop as headliners at the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino. They quickly realize Sin City is much more grind than glitter.
