Lucha Bros Sign New Contracts With AEW

The Lucha Bros, Pentagon El Zero and Rey Fenix, have both signed new contracts with AEW. The deal reportedly took place in August, cementing the Lucha Bros as a fixture on AEW until at least summer 2021.

While it’s not confirmed exactly how long their contract, it was reported that MJF recently signed a long term 5-year contract.

The fan favorites have been a staple of AEW programming since its formation and have recently reignited their partnership with PAC in the form of Death Triangle. While the group has been recently feuding with Eddie Kingston and his family, things have been a little stop-start due to travel issues for PAC.

Additionally, Penta El Zero hasn’t been featured widely in recent weeks due to a calf injury he sustained during a training session. Penta still competed in a recent tag match at AAA’s Triplemania show, but was excluded from the majority of the match for the same reason.

This is also why Penta hasn’t been involved in any matches or brawls on recent episodes of Dynamite. However, he’s scheduled to return to the ring in the coming weeks.

The Lucha Bros have been wrestling for both AEW and AAA, and currently hold the AAA World Tag Team Championships. AAA and AEW  have a working relationship together, therefore, their contract extension won’t have any negative effects on either promotion.

Rey Fenix is set to challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship on the December 30th New Years Smash episode of Dynamite. Pentagon will be in his corner.
