Matt Menard Reveals He Suffered Multiple Injuries At Blood & Guts

Former WWE Star and current All Elite Wrestling Star “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard, member of the Jericho Appreciation Society, recently made an appearance on the “JOFO In The Ring” podcast and revealed that he suffered multiple injuries during the Blood & Guts Match very early into the bout when the Jericho Appreciation Society went up against the Blackpool Combat Club in the main event of the June 29 Blood & Guts episode of AEW Dynamite. According to Matt Menard, after getting dumped on his head by Santana he tore parts of his shoulder, his labrum and his rotator cuff.

This is what Matt Menard said:

“Very early on in that match, I kind of get dumped on my head by Santana. It wasn’t pretty. Ended up actually, tearing parts of my shoulder, my labrum, my rotator cuff. If you’re wondering, ‘Geez, Daddy Magic, early on in the match. Didn’t you climb to the top of the cage to save Chris Jericho? Did you climb to the top of the cage to save Chris Jericho with a torn shoulder, with your shoulder torn to shreds?’ The answer is yes. I’m basically a hero.”

Matt Menard then revealed that despite suffering multiple injuries he will not be needing surgery and he is currently rehabbing his injuries as well as he injecting some stem cells into his shoulder.

This is what Matt Menard said:

“The good news here, is that it doesn’t look like it’s going to require surgery. We’re rehabbing it, injected some stem cells into the shoulder. The bad news is I will not be able to participate in the event for the IWS.”
