Moxley Vacates NJPW IWGP United States Championship

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced today that Jon Moxley is unable to appear for his title defense at the ‘King of Pro Wrestling’ event scheduled for October 14th. The IWGP United States Championship is now vacant.

Due to travel delays resulting from Typhoon Hagibis, Jon Moxley will be unable to defend the IWGP United States Championship at King of Pro Wrestling.

The title has been declared vacant.

New Japan Pro Wrestling released the following statement:

Due to travel delays as a result of this weekend’s Typhoon Hagibis, we regret to announce that Jon Moxley will be unable to appear at Ryogoku Sumo Hall for King of Pro Wrestling on Monday, October 14th.

As Moxley is unable to wrestle in a scheduled championship defense, he has relinquished the IWGP United States Championship.

In place of the scheduled Jon Moxley versus Juice Robinson No Disqualification match tonight for the United States Championship, a match will be contested for now vacant title.
