News On How Long AEW Has Been Planning For The Pinnacle Idea

It was previously reported that MJF has recently started a feud with the Inner Circle and the group’s leader Chris Jericho after joining the faction and being kicked out as his intentions was made clear.

After MJF was kicked out of Jericho’s Inner Circle, he created his own group called The Pinnacle. The Pinnacle consists of MJF, Tully Blanchard, FTR, Wardlow and Shawn Spears.

According to Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW has had plans in place of creating the Pinnacle stable, led by MJF, for a while now, which was as early as when FTR made their AEW debuts back in June of 2020.

Originally, the plan was to have the group make its debut after FTR ended their program with The Young Bucks, but as we noticed, it took longer than that.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“The plans for this group date back to the arrival of FTR, as this was the idea for them after they did the first Young Bucks match that had to be done.”

AEW recently filed to trademark “The Pinnacle” group name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
