Saraya, f.k.a, Paige in WWE has made her presence felt in the nemesis company All Elite Wrestling. While more details about her return come to light, one thing is assured and that’s action will be at an all-time high in the AEW Women’s Division.
Saraya was the pioneer behind the women’s revolution in the WWE, and her return to the ring would make the AEW Women’s Division visible again. The locker room didn’t get the opportunities they deserved and fans were getting bored of the situation surrounding the division.
She debuted after the fatal 4-way match that saw Interim Women’s Champion Toni Storm retain her title over Britt Bake, Serena Deeb, and Athena. This return came at a time when Athena and Storm were getting attacked by Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Rebel.
The return confirms of a story between Baker and Saraya in the near future. We would have to see if AEW allows her to be in the ring as she hasn’t wrestled since 2017 due to spinal stenosis. It’s possible that she may have healed, but WWE wasn’t giving her the opportunity to return to the ring.
With AEW always looking for options and signing ex-WWE superstars, Paige’s signing shouldn’t come as a surprise. She is young, and energetic and can perform all the moves in the book with ease. Her wrestling heritage makes her a strong contender for the AEW Women’s Championship.
We would have to see how the company gets her in the championship storyline, but it’s clear that she will be an asset to the women’s division in AEW whether she is used as a wrestler or as a manager. She knows how to command as she has been the General Manager of SmackDown and knows how to take control. Saraya tweeted her feelings and you can read them below.
