Taz And JR Talk WWE Insulting Fans’ Intelligence During Post Show

During Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite post-show on YouTube, Jim Ross and Taz talked about the competition between AEW and WWE NXT. They started talking about the younger AEW talent when Ross then questioned why anyone watches NXT live. He suggested instead just recording it and watching the show later.

The conversation all started around 17 minutes into the live stream.

“This is going to sound real a**-kissing, but why is there even a choice on Wednesday nights. DVR NXT, watch it later, our s**t’s better. I’m proud of being able to say that, it’s not in defiance, it’s just in reality.”

Taz noted that he doesn’t remember the last time he watched NXT.

“I don’t remember the last time I even watched their show, that’s no bulls**t. I really don’t give a rats a** about it. I respect the men and women there that are bumping and working. I’m not trying to be a homer…I’m so locked into what we do.”

Ross stated WWE never mentions AEW because they’re arrogant. He pointed out how AEW is trying to build their program but he mentions during the show that AEW stars that have WWE backgrounds.

“Here’s us going on Wednesday nights on TNT, and I mention guys all the time who have WWE backgrounds, so f**king what.”

Taz also took a shot at WWE for insulting the intelligence of their fan base.

“You will get people on the YouTube comments be like, ‘All there it is again, AEW complaining about WWE,’ no dumb sh**s, what we’re doing is not insulting your intelligence, and we’re acknowledging WWE. They are the ones insulting your intelligence, we bring them up, they’re relevant, we’re relevant.”

Taz added that they’re trying to be transparent when they bring up WWE or the ratings for the fans. They are not going to pretend that fans don’t know about WWE.
