Wardlow has been enjoying quite the run. It has been even before he decided to part ways with his ‘employer,’ MJF, that fans started being drawn to him. Really it was in the looks he’d give while standing next to MJF as MJF would be giving one of his typical promos and cutting Wardlow down in the process, and that started to gain momentum.
A severing of ties was evident in the building of tension and the implosion was perfect in the end, culminating in Wardlow betraying MJF at AEW Revolution, leading of course to this feud we are now enjoying in which MJF is pitting Wardlow against opponent after opponent, stacking the supposed insurmountable odds one after the other against the big man.
Now talk about entertainment. This of course hopefully leading to when he can finally get his hands on MJF—a match that should deliver on all fronts.
But as it turns out, Wardlow has a few men he’d love to face in the industry; his dream opponents if you will, and while discussing that, he also detailed what he feels is his worth in this industry and why he feels he can go one-on-one with just about any sort of wrestler. These comments were made while he spoke to Buster’s World:
“For today, Kenny Omega tops that list. I feel like I have a list of people that are claimed to be the best wrestlers in the world. I feel like I have this list of people that I want to wrestle with just because they are the best, supposedly…I just want to challenge myself with guys like Kenny Omega; can I hang with PAC and Andrade? I want to be able to hang with the best workers…
I don’t want to be secluded to just a monster, just someone who can tear heads off and is just a one-dimensional wrestler. I truly believe I have the voice, I can speak, and I have the athleticism to be well-rounded…I feel that I am the total package. I check every box, and I probably created some of my own boxes as far as building a professional wrestler…
The big monster vs. monster type scenario, it would be dreamy to step in the ring with Paul Wight one day…the biggest of them all. Guys like Big Show or Mark Henry, if he ever decided to lace the boots up again. The guys that I watched on TV that have survived, made a name for themselves and have been monsters in the company. Put me up against all of them.”

As it stands now, Wardlow is set to face another big man in the industry…W. Morrissey from Impact Wrestling. The hint came at the hands of MJF after Wardlow defeated Lance Archer in a phenomenal match…a showcase of just what brute strength and talent can do when combined. As Wardlow mentioned in his comments, it really was a “monster vs. monster” scenario for sure and an entertaining one as stated.
It will be very interesting to see how he fares against the likes of W. Morrissey next week on Dynamite.
